Dawne Marie (Harrington) Gould, Age 90, of Canandaigua NY, died peacefully Sunday, August 24th 2025 at M. M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua, NY
after a long illness.
She was a resident of the Clark Meadows Assisted Living Facility, and previously of the Ferris Hills Senior Living Community.
She is predeceased by her husband, David F. Gould, parents Cramer Harrington, Sr. and Marguerite Harrington, her brother Cramer Harrington, Jr., her son Karl D. Gould and grandson Evan D. Gould.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Kathleen and Art Kirsch (Canandaigua NY), son and daughter-in-law Andrew and Lori Gould (Smyrna TN), and daughter-in-law Nancy Gould (Harleysville PA).
She is survived by five grandchildren: Emily Kirsch, Andy Kirsch, Melissa and spouse Regina Goultier, Allison Gould, and Tyler Gould.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law Barbara Harrington, several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Born in 1935, Dawne grew up in West Endicott, NY and attended Union Endicott High School, graduating in 1953. She married Dave in 1959 and moved to Apalachin, NY where they raised their three children. She was heavily involved in the PTA, her church, and many organizations supporting her children in sports and band in Vestal, NY. She worked as secretary at Dr Portela's family practice for many years. After the passing of Dave in 1995, she retired from her last job at NYSEG and lived in Florida and Tennessee before finally moving to Canandaigua, NY.
Dawne knew and loved so many lifelong friends that she cherished so much.
Dawne was a devout Catholic and most recently attended St Mary's Church in Canandaigua. She was a cat lover, and owned many cats over the years, the most recent was her surviving cat Benji.
Dawne loved talking and socializing, assembling jigsaw puzzles, her card clubs, and she attended any social event offered with her many friends and residents at Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows.
Thanks to many of the kind staff and friends at Ferris Hills and Clark Meadows Dawne knew over the last 10 years; and thanks to the staff and care Dawne received, most recently and briefly, at Thompson Hospital, and the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, with care and support from UR Medicine Hospice.
The family will receive friends at the Allen Memorial Home on Tuesday September 2 from 9:30-11:00 AM followed by Funeral Services at 11 AM at Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott, (Live Stream at https://youtube.com/live/QnJsJpMr7Vg?feature=share). Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City NY.
