Reverend Leonard Dean Knipe, Jr., 66, of Phenix City, AL, entered into his eternal home on Thursday, September 15, 2022. "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith". Jesus responded, "Well done thy good and faithful servant."
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM (EST) on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 in the Vance Brooks Funeral Home Chapel, Phenix City, AL, with Reverend Lewis N. Passmore Jr, (Bud) officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, September 19, 2022 from 6:00 till 8:00 PM (EST) at the funeral home.
Reverend Knipe was born October 30, 1955, in Fort Benning, GA. son of the late Leonard Dean Knipe, Sr, and Marion Jane Harrison Knipe. He was passionate about GA Football, and he loved to talk about "his" team. "Psycho Rev." as he laughingly referred to himself loved a good joke or prank. Reverend Knipe served as a pastor most of his adult life culminating at Providence Church in Columbus, GA, for 23 years. He never met a stranger no matter their status in the world's eyes. This allowed him as a Chaplain with Kindred Hospice to serve with compassion and share Christ's love. His ministry will continue from the warmth and care he shared with many others throughout his life. We miss him so much, but we have great peace in knowing he is receiving his eternal rewards.
Survivors include his wife Deboarh R. Bullard Knipe; his son, Jeremiah "Jeremy" Knipe (Samantha), son, Anthony Knipe, two daughters, Lindsay Wesley (Michael) and Kelly Lopez (James "Jim"); seven grandchildren, Bryce, Tyler, Madison, Rachel, Riley, Chloe and Christopher; sister, Susan Dodson (Dave), a special uncle and aunt, Cy and Barbara Harrison; several nieces, and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to Kindred Hospice, www.kindredhospice.com or Providence Church, 5401 St. Marys Rd, Columbus, GA. 31907
