Deborah Crecelius Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Carlisle-Branson Funeral Service & Crematory on Dec. 30, 2025.
Deborah Susan Crecelius, 75, of Mooresville, passed peacefully at her home early Monday, December 29, 2025. She was born on June 7, 1950 in Indianapolis to the late Donald Hugh Crecelius and Doris (Griffin) Crecelius.

Deb obtained a Bachelor's of Science from Purdue University and pursued understanding and knowledge throughout her life. She was an artist and creator who explored many mediums following her thirst for play and color. She regularly returned to photography, painting, collage, and fiber arts. Deb was never without a book (or two) and adored a cozy reading spot in the sun.

Deb and Vincent Gregory DeFelice married on June 17, 1978 and have enjoyed over 47 years of marriage. Together they built a home and raised and homeschooled three children. They built a life full of family dinners and days spent together playing games.

A sage to all who knew her, she demonstrated the teachings of her faith every single day. She was loving and kind, and generous with her time and energy. She had the ability to cut through the BS with her dry wit and good humor. Deb's soul was perfect in every way and she will be missed beyond belief by those who knew her.

Deb will be remembered everyday by her husband, Vincent DeFelice of Mooresville; sons, John (wife, Theresa) DeFelice of Mooresville and Lee DeFelice of Mooresville; daughter, Anne Crecelius of Bloomington; sisters, Pamela (husband, Sanford) Lange of Indianapolis and Jan Ranger of Coatesville; and grandchildren, Ian DeFelice and Anya DeFelice.

Deb was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Doris Crecelius and brother, Dennis Crecelius. Her earthly remains will be cremated following the visitation.

This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. ~ Psalm 118:23
