Deborah Jean "Debbie" Delawder, 73, of Winchester, VA, died on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the Winchester Medical Center.
Debbie was born on December 8, 1951, in Winchester, VA, the daughter of the late Marion A. and Mildred Frances Dunlap Shores. She previously worked at Winchester Medical Center as a housekeeper. Debbie had a deep love for the outdoors, often found tending to her garden or working in the yard. A devoted Elvis Presley fan, she cherished his music throughout her life. More than anything, Debbie treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Debbie married Richard B. Delawder on February 14, 1968, in Hagerstown, MD. Richard died on June 18, 2008.
Surviving are her two children: Richard T. "Todd" Delawder and his wife Tammi; Christy Feltner and her husband Marty all of Winchester, VA; her sister: Joyce Whitacre of Winchester, VA; nine grandchildren: Robbie, Brandon, Mia, T.J., Whitney, Cody, Mikey, Brandon and Travis and five great-grandchildren: Dominic, Khloe, Brystol, Harper and Calen.
Debbie is preceded in death along with her husband and parents by a daughter: Carrie M. Livermore; her brothers: Larry and Billy Shores and her sisters: Judy Moreland and Charlotte Costello.
The family will receive friends at the Giffin Funeral Home & Crematory in Capon Bridge, WV on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 1-2 PM. A funeral service will follow at 2 PM. Officiating will be Rev. Todd Gess. Interment will follow in the Ebenezer cemetery near Gore, VA.
