Deborah Hagar-Mack, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away on December 26, 2024, at Ascension St. Vincent's Riverside in Jacksonville, Florida, at the age of 75. She was born on January 7, 1949, in Newton, Massachusetts, to John and Mildred Hagar.
Deborah's journey through life was marked by a deep love for her family and a passion for adventure. In 1987, she met her husband, Frank Mack, while both were working at the same company in Chicago, Illinois. Their shared love for life and travel brought them together, and they were married for 37 wonderful years. Deborah and Frank lived in several places during their marriage, including Lake Forest, Illinois, Port Saint Lucie, and Jensen Beach, Florida, before finally settling in beautiful St. Augustine in 2022. Their bond was strengthened by their shared experiences and love for each other, their children, and the places they called home.
Deborah had a diverse and fulfilling career. She enjoyed an exciting tenure as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines where she had the opportunity to travel the world alongside Frank, visiting countries far and wide. Deborah later worked in marketing for 5 years. Deborah also had a strong connection to her faith and her community, spending time working in the Religious Education Department at Holy Family Catholic Church for 10 years in Port Saint Lucie, Florida.
An avid lover of the outdoors, Deborah enjoyed walking her dog Sparky, swimming, and playing golf. Above all, she cherished the time spent with her family, whether it was on family trips, quiet moments at home, or celebrations of life's milestones. Her warm and caring spirit left a lasting impact on all who knew her.
Deborah is survived by her devoted husband, Frank Mack, their four children: Kimberly Mack, Frank Douglas Mack, Ashley White, and Abigail Kroupa as well as her seven grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
A graveside memorial of Deborah's life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Our Lady of Good Counsel for the expansion of the church.
Deborah's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will continue to inspire all who knew her.
