Deborah Jean "Debbie" Hansen, 73, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, in Ogden, Utah. She was born on April 23, 1952, in San Antonio, Texas, to Gerald W. Crosby and Joyce Lee Struhs Crosby. Debbie was the first of eight children and treasured her role as the oldest sister.
As the daughter of an Air Force serviceman, Debbie grew up experiencing life in many places across the United States, including Texas, Arizona, and California. She spent part of her teenage years in California, where she was a cheerleader at Bear River Jr. High, and four memorable years in Japan while her father was stationed overseas. Following her father's retirement, the family settled in
Roy, Utah, where Debbie spent most of her teenage years.
Debbie graduated from Roy High School and went on to work many years in retail, including Auerbach's, Mervyn's, and merchandising for Hallmark and American Greetings. She built lasting friendships and was admired for her dedication and work ethic.
After high school, Debbie married Larry Broadstone, and together they welcomed a son, Brandon. They later divorced. On June 11, 1977, Debbie married Roger Hansen in Ogden, Utah, and together they were blessed with a son, Eric. Debbie and Roger built a beautiful life together in South Ogden, filled with love and happy years. On January 19, 2021, they were sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple, a sacred day they both cherished. Roger preceded her in death on January 18, 2023.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Debbie was part of the Meadow Ward in South Ogden, where she served in various callings, including the nursery and as a ward librarian. She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, and sense of humor.
Debbie was preceded in death by her husband Roger, her parents Gerald and Joyce Crosby, her brother Gerald Crosby Jr., grandparents Harry and Alice Struhs, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her sons Brandon (Colette) Broadstone of Hawaii and Eric Hansen of South Ogden; her siblings Karen (Reggie) Price, Bob Crosby, Pamela (Dave) Clapier, Ron (Tamra) Crosby, Lori (Todd) Gee, and Kyle (Rebecca) Crosby.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with a viewing from 9:30–10:30 a.m., at Meadow Ward, 5855 Skyline Drive, South Ogden, Utah. Interment will follow at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 S. Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
Debbie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her love and legacy will live on in the lives of those she touched.
