Deborah Darrington Martin

Deborah Darrington Martin was born in Monroe, LA on April 5, 1956 to the late Evoria Darrington Sillers. She transitioned to her heavenly home on November 2, 2025. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Phillip Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. T. Williams. At the time of her departure, she was a member of Alexandria #2 Baptist Church under the leadership of her husband, Rev. Dennis Martin, Sr., where she served as First Lady, Mother, Sunday School teacher, and Usher.
She graduated from Carroll High School, class of 1974. She graduated from Louisiana Tech University with a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education, the University of Louisiana at Monroe with a Master of Arts in Education Administration and received a Plus 30 from Grambling State University. She held many positions in both the Monroe City and Ouachita Parish School systems over her 33-year career. She was married to Rev. Dennis Martin, Sr. for 44 years and to this union two children were born. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, planting flowers, and pouring into the lives of children around her.
She is the oldest of six children and was preceded in death by her mother, Evoria Sillers, and her sister, Earnestine Gardner.
Mourning her departure yet cherishing her memories are her husband, Rev. Dennis Martin Sr., her two children, LeKeya Weir (Bert), and Dennis Martin, Jr., four siblings - Sharon Goudeau, Wayne Gardner, Terry Gardner, and Michelle Gardner, three grandchildren - Greyson Weir, Emery Weir, and Dennis Martin III, two goddaughters - Carlisa LeDay and Kierra Coleman, close friends - Brenda McCoy and Addie Zimmerman, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.
