East Greenbush - Deborah A. Shoup, 77, passed away Monday, August 11th 2025, at home with family. Deborah was born in Dexter, Maine the daughter of the late Robert Alexander Graves and Helen Josephine (Otto) Graves. She held a Bachelor's in History from University of Maine, Orono, and a Master's in Library Science from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. Deborah loved local history, reading, sewing, knitting, word games, and civic awareness, and traveling. In retirement, she became a certified Master Gardener, and an educator with the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Her long career in library work included the directorship of the East Greenbush Community Library. She later retired from the Guilderland Town Library. Survivors include son, Thomas Evelyn; daughter, Elisabeth Shoup Pieper (Jestin); two sisters, Susan Graves (Judy Pierson), Betsy Rose (Mark); sister-in-law Amanda Corray Graves (Tim Scott); brother, Stephen Graves (Margaret Roman); as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by husband, Vernon Alan Shoup and brother, David Alexander Graves. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her calling hours Sunday, August 17 from 1:00pm - 4:00pm followed by a service at 4:00 pm in the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home, Inc. 165 Columbia Tpk.
