Debra Ann Morgan

Debra Ann Morgan, age 68, transitioned to her eternal home on Thursday, June 12, 2025. Born into this world on August 27,1956 in New Orleans, LA she was affectionately known as "Brillo" to her close family and friends. Debra bright and bold personality carried a special aura that naturally drew people in. She was baptized at Israelite Baptist Church under the leadership of the Late Rev. Martin B. Fortner Sr. She was a proud New Orleans, LA native who graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and later attended American College, graduating as a Certified Nurse Assistant. Debra was know for being very competitive in everything she did, her unapologetic voice, and gift to rebuild a bicycle from scratch. Her pride and joy came from being a devoted mother and grandmother.
Debra is preceded in death by her son, Cleveland Morgan; granddaughter Kristen Nuro; lifetime partner, Cleveland Green; parents, George Morgan and Daisy Harper Peterson; stepdad, Liston Peterson; 2 sisters, Erana Ford and Ava Spotville; 2 brothers, Jimmy and Wardell Harper; maternal grandparents, Dollie and Mary Harper; and paternal grandmother, Sarah Morgan.
Debra is survived by her daughter, Ayana Morgan; granddaughter, Kiera Nuro; sister, Marilyn Harper Thomas; 4 brothers, Rickey Williams (WillieStean), Alfred Taylor Sr., Jeffery and Felton Harper; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family St. Bernard project community.
Although she has departed this earthly life, the light of Debra's spirit will forever shine in the lives she touched.
Relatives and friends of the family are all invited to attend her Celebration of Life Service on Friday, June 20, 2025, 4:00PM, at Professional Funeral Services, 1449 N. Claiborne Ave, NOLA. Visitation will be held from 3:00PM until the hour of service. Internment Private
