Delbert "Pete" Lee Hamm, Jr., 72, of DeMossville, KY, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, May 27, 2025.
Born January 13, 1953, in Covington, KY, Pete was the son of the late Delbert L. Hamm, Sr. and Ruth Hamm. A man who valued hard work, family, and the simple joys in life, Pete was known for his deep love of working on cars-there wasn't an engine he couldn't bring back to life. When he wasn't under the hood, you could find him with a fishing rod in hand, cheering on his beloved Cincinnati Bengals, or catching a rerun of his favorite shows-Walker, Texas Ranger and The Dukes of Hazzard.
Pete shared 52 beautiful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Mary Elizabeth Hamm. Together, they built a legacy of selfless love and family that continues to grow. He is survived by his children: Chris (Teresa) Hamm, Steven Hamm, Mary (Barry) Hurd, Jenny (Dave) Tarvin, Tony (Danielle) Hamm, Andrew (Christa) Hamm, Bonny (Joey) Shepperd, Julie Hamm, Tina Hamm, Lindsey Hamm, and Maggie Hamm. Pete was a proud grandfather to 36 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought him endless joy and pride.
He will be remembered for his kind heart, easy smile, and the way he always put family first. His stories, his laughter, and the warmth he brought to every room will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. As we say goodbye, may we carry forward Pete's love for family, his joy in life's simple pleasures, and that trademark enthusiasm. Whether you're turning a wrench, casting a fishing line, or just enjoying a quiet evening with loved ones, let his spirit live on in those moments. And when the mood strikes, don't be afraid to shout a good, hearty "Yabba Dabba Doo!" in his honor.
A private service will be held by the family at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor Pete by spending time with loved ones, casting a line at your favorite fishing spot, or watching a Bengals game in his memory.
