Delbert Leonard “D.L.” Towles, age 96 of Hardyville passed away Monday, February 3, 2025 at the Medical Center at Caverna. He was a member of Munfordville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. D.L. ran a bulldozer for many years, worked on a drilling rig and retired as a highway contractor with Edwards Construction. He enjoyed flying airplanes, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and reading many books.
He is the son of the late Manley Towles and the late Lizzie Bell Shelton Towles.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Stinson Towles; three sisters, Naomi Wooten, Wilma Miller, Jean Benningfield.
He is survived by two daughters, Glenda O’Dell of Hardyville and Marilyn Thomas of Frankfort, several nieces, nephews and other extended family also survive.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM- 2:00 PM CT on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM CT on Friday, February 7, 2025 at Brooks Funeral Home with Bro. Paul Hines officiating. Burial will follow at the Munfordville Municipal Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Gideons International. Donations may be left with the funeral home.
