Delmar F. Benner, 81, of Linglestown, joyously arrived in heaven at 9:53 PM on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Capitol Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center in Harrisburg. Born on October 18, 1943 in Lewistown, Mifflin County, he is a son of the late Harold L. and Mary Naomi (Frymoyer) Benner. On November 23, 1965, he married his surviving beloved wife, Mary Ann (Shugarts) Benner, with whom he was blessed to share over 59 years of marriage before his passing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Asher D. Benner and his wife Tina, Nason J. Benner and his wife Dawn, all of Harrisburg, Aaron K. Benner and his wife Nicole of Richfield, and Adele D. Nester of Harrisburg; eleven grandchildren, Keifer Benner, Anthony Hower, Sarah Benner and her husband Freeman Fisher, Forest Benner and his wife Breonna, Madeline Benner, Lydia Benner, Braden Benner, Julian Nester, Phoenix Nester, Zoe Nester, and August Nester; three great grandchildren; and one sister, Gail Nipple and her husband Reno of Port Royal. Mr. Benner was a 1961 graduate of East Juniata High School in Cocolamus and a 1993 graduate of Word of Life Bible Institute of Schroon Lake, NY. Del was the owner and operator of Del Benner Mechanical Contracting for over 7 years and was a member for over 24 years of the Local 520 Plumbers and Pipefitters. In 1993 after graduating from Word of Life Bible Institute, Del began his journey as a full time missionary with his wife in Open Air Evangelism with Word of Life Fellowship where he retired in August 2024 after 31 years of service. He was a current member of Brookfield Bible Church in Harrisburg and enjoyed clocks, balloon art, gospel illusions, and telling everyone he met about the love of Jesus. Del will be remembered for his love of our Lord, his family, friends, and those he ministered to, and the joy of the Lord that followed him wherever he went. 2 Corinthians 4:5 reflects his heart, "For what we proclaim is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, with ourselves as your servants for Jesus' sake." Funeral Services will be held in the Family Life Center at the Richfield Life Ministries Church, 167 Church St., Richfield on Thursday, January 30, 2025 at 11:30 AM with Pastor John Shiery officiating.
