Delores Willoughby Forehand

COLERAIN, NC - Delores Willoughby Forehand, aged 83, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday, September 10, 2025, at Ahoskie Health and Rehab in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Born on September 3, 1942, in Hertford County, North Carolina, Delores was the cherished daughter of Ruth Freeman Willoughby and Theron Willoughby.
Throughout her life, Delores was steadfastly devoted to her family and found immense joy in tending to their needs alongside her husband, Perry Forehand, as they worked together on their family farm. She dedicated herself to her home and loved ones, nurturing an environment filled with warmth and love. Delores had a deep passion for cooking, and she delighted in sharing meals with her family, especially treasuring the moments spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A faithful member of the Colerain Baptist Church, Delores lived a life of quiet service and unwavering faith. Her gentle spirit and dedication to her community will be remembered by all who knew her. With hearts full of love and gratitude for a life well-lived, Delores Willoughby Forehand will be forever remembered as a beacon of kindness and devotion to her family and community.
In addition to her parents, Delores was preceded in death by her loving husband, Perry Forehand, and her daughter, Penny Forehand. Her memories will be cherished by her surviving family: her daughter, Linda Fitzpatrick and her husband, David; her grandsons Christopher Perry Forehand and wife Brianna, Timothy James McCollum, Jonathan Miller Forehand and wife Kaila, and David Charles Fitzpatrick; and her five adored great-granddaughters, Alexia Penny, Lilian Grace, Margo Penny, Wrenleigh James, and Everleigh Dawn Forehand.
Family and friends are invited to gather for a graveside service to celebrate Delores's life on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery in Colerain, NC. Reverend Gary Saffall will officiate the ceremony.
