Demetris Lashawn Miner, affectionately known as "Dirt," of Trenton, New Jersey, peacefully gained his wings on July 22, 2025, surrounded by the love, comfort, and care of those dearest to him.
Born on July 6, 1982, in Trenton, New Jersey, to Stephanie Miner and Johnnie Campfield, Demetris was a proud product of the Trenton Public School System and a graduate of Trenton Central High School. Throughout his life, he worked diligently in various roles and was most proud of his entrepreneurial venture as the owner of The Snack Box.
To know Demetris was to love him. He carried a heart full of kindness, a spirit of compassion, and a deep sense of loyalty. Many would describe him as a sweetheart, gentle, selfless, and always willing to give his last to someone in need. His vibrant personality lit up every room he entered. Whether through laughter, love, or dancing to his favorite Reggae beats, Demetris truly was the life of the party.
More than anything, Demetris was a family man. He found joy in being surrounded by his loved ones, organizing family gatherings, and creating memories that will be cherished forever. His devotion to family knew no limits, and his presence was a constant source of strength and unity. A loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan, he cheered on his team with pride, Fly Eagles Fly!
Demetris now joins cherished loved ones who preceded him in death: his beloved grandmother, Jean Lynch; great-grandparents, William A. and Grace Womack; and great-aunts, Mary O. Smith, Martha O. Queen, and Crystal Brodie.
His memory lives on through those who loved him most: His devoted mother, Stephanie M. Miner (Michele); father, Johnnie Campfield; and his treasured children, Tamar Miner, Davonte Miner, Damarkis Miner, De'Meis Miner, Ciara Miner and Malachi Miner. Demetris maintained caring and respectful co-parenting relationships with Alice Drew, Labisa Hoagland, Ebony Tyson and Mary Adams, who each played important roles in his life. He also leaves behind his loving siblings: brothers, Tyree Horne, Brandon Miner, Dont'e Jones, Jarrett Miner, Christopher McGraw, Ernest Lane, Andrew Crawford, and Jermaine Tift; and sisters, Donna Jones, Chanelle Chester, Lauren Chester, and Lacara Horne and Asia Fenderson. Demetris's love extended to his two aunts, Sa Mut Angela Scott and Latonda A. McCleese; his uncles, William A. Miner and Kinley Williams; and an abundance of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends.
The loss of Demetris leaves a deep void in the hearts of his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him. His love, laughter, and legacy will live on eternally.
