Dennis Joseph Cook, 54, of Escanaba, MI passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023 peacefully in his sleep, due to his recent battle with cancer.
Dennis was born on April 18th, 1969 in Pontiac, MI. He moved as a young teenager to the Upper Peninsula where he met his first wife and had four daughters. He was later remarried and had two sons and two more daughters with his current wife. He was a proud father of his eight children. Dennis spent a portion of his life living in South Carolina. He later retired due to ongoing medical situations and decided his home was in Michigan where most of his kids and grandchildren resided.
He spent the next few years taking in all he could of his family and hanging out and catching up with old friends. He loved fishing and being with his grandchildren. He was a wonderful "Papa", one of the best a kid could have. The amount of love he had to give was unlimited, if only his time would have been.
Dennis is survived by his wife, Gena (Pitts) Cook; eight children, LaRae (Brandon) Cook, Holly (Matt) Cook, Courtney (Jason) Frizzell, Morgan (Charlie) Pedroni, Jeremy (Cora) Cook, Kristina (Benito) Velazquez, Steven Cook, and Riley Cook; six grandchildren, Haylynn, Silas, Emelia, Elliot, Everett, and Stella; his siblings, Josh (Victoria) Cook, Victoria (Julian) Scott, Jason Cook, and Chelsea (Marcus) Lara; and his nieces and nephew.
He was proceeded in death by his parents Dennis and Sue (Boaz) Cook and his sister Tammy Cook.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
