Dennis Leo Trivette, age 66, of Butler, TN passed away on Nov 1, 2024 peacefully in his sleep at home. Dennis was born Feb 16, 1958 to the late Leo Little Trivette and Irene Thomas Trivette. Dennis was preceded in death by his grandparents Asa Thomas and Mamie McGlamery both of Zionville, NC; Henry and Zada Trivette of Bristol, TN; and a sister Wanda Trivette.
He is survived by his son Nathan Trivette, a brother David Trivette of Florida, a sister Pamela Fitzgerald of Elkin, NC and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Dennis was married in 2002 to Rebecca Trivette until their separation in 2017. With that, they had their son, Nathan, in 2003 and raised him from then on out. Not long after, Dennis was diagnosed with a form of cancer known as non-hodgkins lymphoma in 2006, at the age of 48. He fought resiliently and was in remission a year later in 2007 despite being told there was a very slim chance. Upon doing so, Dennis used this gift from God and was able to remain a proud father to his son for the remainder of his life. Dennis proudly served his country in the Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1984 with the rank of Sergeant. He remained very proud of his service and always fondly talked about his time overseas at Iraklion Air Station in Greece and Torrejón Airbase in Spain. He loved watching football with his son and telling stories about his service and his time growing up. In his life, Dennis was a proud and loving father through and through. His strong love, passion, and integrity as a father will live on in his son.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-5:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2024 at Mountain City Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with Military Honors to be accorded by the Johnson County Honor Guard.
