Dewey Bartley, age 78, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2025 at the Pikeville Medical Center. He was born on November 12, 1946 to his parents the late Baxter Bartley and Bessie Martin Bartley. Dewey was the husband of Barbara E. Potter Bartley, a retired inloader operator for Elkhorn Stone Quarry, and a member of the Ashcamp Old Regular Baptist Church.
Along with his parents, Dewey was preceded in death by one son, Shannon Bartley, two brothers, Curtis Bartley, Delbert Bartley, and one sister, Ora Lee Mullins,
Along with his wife, Dewey is survived by one son, Spencer (Deana) Bartley, one daughter, Daphne (Jerry Russell) Blankenship, three grandchildren: Evan Blankenship, Ashley Bartley, Rachel Downs, two great grandchildren, Calliope Downs & Theo Blankenship, four brothers, Earl Bartley, Thomas Bartley, Phillip Bartley, & Elster Bartley, and two sisters, Beatrice Belcher and Dorothy Waller, and a host of loving family and friends.
Visitation will be Saturday at 6p.m. at the Ashcamp Old Regular Baptist Church. Church services will be at 7p.m. Saturday and Sunday evening. The funeral will be Monday, April 28, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Ashcamp Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Minisers officiating. Burial will follow in the Potter Cemetery at Ashcamp.
