Diana (Diane) Lee Cisler was called home by our Lord on November 29, 2023. Born March 19, 1941 in Kankakee, Illinois and last residing in Abilene, Tx, Diane was the eldest of eight children by Laverne and Francis (Thompson) Schlaich.
After graduating from Herscher High School in Illinois, Diane met and married the love of her life, William (Bill) Cisler. November 19, 2023 marked their 64th wedding anniversary. During their time together, Bill and Diane made their home in various locations. They spent significant time living in Truro, Iowa and in Borger, Texas. After Bill's retirement, they moved to Abilene. No matter where they lived, Diane made their house a home and cared for her family.
During her time in Borger, she was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was involved in Vacation Bible School, Christmas programs, and Sunday School administration.
Diane was an impeccable homemaker, wonderful cook, and loved to decorate for all occasions. If there was no current holiday, there were always patriotic knick knacks and banners to display. When her house could no longer fit them, she bought and acquired trinkets to give to her children and grandchildren. Hallmark surely saw a noticeable slump in sales when she was no longer able to visit their stores.
Diane's calling was as a mother, and she was more than just a mother to her own children but to anyone who needed love and caring. She led a life of tireless service.
Diane is survived by her husband, daughter Lisa Reynolds and her husband Van, and son William and his wife Allison. She is also survived by five grandchildren: Janalyn Masburn, Parker Morris, and Aaron, Casey and Laney Cisler. She leaves brothers Terry and Kurt Schlaich and sisters Sue Gross and Joni Weakley.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Buddy, Billy, and Rory Schlaich, and by her daughter Linda Morris.
The family would like to thank Dr. Sandra Hazelip and the staff of Wisteria Place and Hendrick Hospice in Abilene for their care of Diane.
Although no public memorial service is planned at this time, Diane will be forever remembered and loved by her family and friends.
