Donald Thomas "Donnie" Dipzinski, 67, of Gaylord, Michigan, passed away on March 23, 2025. He was born on June 30, 1957, and spent his early years in Johannesburg before moving to Gaylord at the age of 12.
Donnie is survived by his long-time partner, Christine "Kris" Amborski, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years, and his children: Wesley (Katie), Amanda, Robin (Joe) Flores, Andrea Card, and Travis Amborski. Donnie found great joy in spending time with his beloved grandchildren, whom he would do anything for: Lucy, Rosie, Daisy, Summer, Shelby, and Hope. He is also survived by his sister Elaine Ciszewski and his nieces and nephews, Chris (Inez) Ciszewski, Annaliese (Mark) Koronka, Gavin (Liz), Garrett (Shelby), Grant, Tucker, and Fletcher.
Donnie was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lillian Dipzinski, his sister, Deborah Barber, and his brothers-in-law, Sam Barber and Don Ciszewski.
Donnie began his working journey at Gaylord Big Boy, where he not only served customers but also proudly represented the restaurant as the Big Boy mascot during the Alpenfest parade.
In his professional life, Donnie worked with L&R Well Drilling before founding Gorilla Excavation, a venture that allowed him to pursue his passion for machinery and working in the dirt-an endeavor that brought him immense satisfaction.
Donnie had a tough exterior, but he was quite the softy, hardworking, and sharp-witted. He was a proud man who left a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Donnie was a dedicated member of the Eagles, he enthusiastically volunteered regularly for the Friday Fish Fry.
Donnie will be remembered for his humor, unwavering dedication, and the deep love he shared with family and friends, and he was always quick to help anyone who needed it. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
Please join us in celebrating Donnie's life on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1-6 pm at the Gaylord Eagles Club, 515 S. Wisconsin, Gaylord, MI.
Please share your stories and memories of Donnie in the Share of Memory section.

I moved up to Gaylord a few years ago and didn´t know anyone. I live on Hallock Road and Donnie´s garage is just down the road so he drove by here a lot. One day he stopped and we talked. Great guy. Every now and again he´d stop to just say hi and tell me all the jobs he was doing in the area. I looked forward to seeing him. He was a good man,a funny man, and hard working man. Always busy doing something. Lately I haven´t seen him go by and wave or beep the horn so I got a little concerned. I am so so sorry to hear of Donnie´s passing. I so wish I could have said goodbye. He´s in a better place now but I certainly hope he takes a little time off and does a little fishing. He´s only away. We´ll see him again soon. RIP my friend

We are truly saddened to learn of the passing of this faithful volunteer, and Eagle member. The Friday night fish fries will not seem the same without his practiced hands! God Speed!
