Donald "Don" Ebert, age 76, of Princeton, was received into the waiting arms of his Lord and Savior on Friday, August 15, 2025, at the Markesan Resident Home. He was born on April 25, 1949, in Ripon, WI, a son of Edward G. and Ruth M. (Dutcher) Ebert.

Don grew up in Princeton and attended St. John's Lutheran Grade School where he received his Christian education through the 8th grade. On June 3, 1967, he graduated from Princeton High School. Three days later, on June 6, he began working for Alliance Laundry (Formerly Speed Queen) in Ripon, where he worked for nearly 44 years before his retirement on April 30, 2011. He was united in marriage to Eileen Rose Erickson on September 29, 1973, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Redgranite, WI. Rev. Donald Johnson was the officiant.

Don had a strong Christian faith. He was a prior member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Princeton and had served as an usher, councilmen, and school board member. He was currently a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Montello where he served as an usher, councilmen and money counter. Don put the Lord first, then his wife and family.

In his younger years, Don played on a fast pitch baseball league as a pitcher and bowled on men's and couples bowling leagues for many years. He also enjoyed cutting wood, trapping, camping with family and friends, and loved all types of hunting and fishing with family and friends. His favorite thing was going duck and deer hunting with his son and grandchildren. Don loved watching sports on TV, especially the Brewers, Packers, and Badgers. He would adjust his schedule to be able to watch them, they were the highlight of his day. The last few years, Don looked forward to and really valued time spent with his family and grandchildren. What he loved most was gathering on the holidays with family and friends.

Those Don leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 51 years, Eileen Ebert of Princeton; daughter, Linda (Richard) Swanke of Princeton; son, Mark (Tracy) Ebert of Princeton; 6 grandchildren, Abbie (significant other, Kolton Zacharias) Swanke, Auggie (Samantha) Swanke, Quentin Swanke, Mason (significant other, Victoria Krueger) Swanke; Travis (Erika) Teichen, Katie Teichen; 4 great grandchildren, Zoe Rennhack, Kinzley Zacharias, Silas Teichen, baby girl Swanke on the way; 3 siblings, Beverly (Danny) Griffin of Montello, Judy Williams of Princeton, Dennis Ebert of Butternut, WI; special friends, the Manthey family, Ken, Barb, Mike and Matt; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Ruth Ebert; father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Rita Lawrence; brother-in-law, Lee Williams; niece, Danielle Ebert; special friends, Howard and Eleanor Griffin, Sharon and Gene Crook.

A funeral service for Donald "Don" Ebert will be held on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m., at Emmauel Lutheran Church (Big Mecan), W1568 Evergreen Lane, Montello.
