Donald Paul Hare Jr.

Donald Paul Hare, Jr. passed away with his loving family by his side on November 14th, 2025. Donald was born on January 19, 1958 to Donald Hare, Sr. and Ellen Becker Hare. He attended Archbishop Rummel High School and McNeese State University, where he earned an Associates Degree in Psychology. He worked in retail sales for many years and also enjoyed being a D.J. at a local radio station.

Don loved fishing, playing pool, and playing cards, but mostly, he enjoyed spending time with friends and family just hanging out, barbecuing or having seafood boils.

Don was the husband of the late Deborah Black Hare. He is survived by his mother, Ellen McClure. He is also survived by two siblings, Wendy Petit (Craig), and Jay Saucier, his niece, Randi Kihnel (Caleb), and his two nephews, Devon Beltz (Margaret), and Brenon Petit. He was known as beloved "Uncle Donnie" to three grandnieces and three grandnephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Paul Hare, Sr.

Don will be remembered most for his playful spirit and love for old jokes. He was very rarely seen without one of his beloved caps.

Relatives and friends are invited to a brief visitation from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. followed by a brief Memorial Service on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA 70001.
