Donald Richard Kisor of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, went to meet his Savior on January 20, 2022, at the age of 74. Donald was born in Shawnee, Oklahoma, to Ethridge Arthur Kisor and Birdie Ellen (Treat) Kisor on December 9, 1947.
Don attended Dale High School in Dale, Oklahoma, graduating with the Class of 1966. He attended Eastern Oklahoma State College in Wilburton, and completed his bachelor's degree in business at the University of Oklahoma in 1971. Don later earned his master's degree from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma. After college, Don briefly worked in life insurance at American General Insurance Company before finding his career as a Contract Supervisor at Tinker Air Force Base, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a hard worker who always provided for his family. He was a loving, generous man with the kindest, most giving heart. Don developed lasting relationships with friends and co-workers. After he retired, one of his favorite activities was meeting his former co-workers from Tinker for monthly lunches.
Don was a big fan of OU football and a long-time season ticket holder. Don adored his family and loved to spend as much time with them as he could. He enjoyed bowling each Sunday after church with his brothers. He enjoyed woodworking and building tables for his family. He was a huge supporter of his children and grandchildren, and you could always find Don at their events.
Don's first love was always his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a dedicated and active member of Brookwood Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He also served as a Deacon at two former churches, Beverly Hills Baptist Church and Shields Boulevard Baptist Church. Don married his bride on November 10, 1972. Don was a wonderful husband to his wife, Brenda, and they loved to spend time together as a couple. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend. Don will be deeply and forever missed by all those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Ethridge and Birdie Kisor, four brothers, Earl, Jack, Tom, and Troy, one sister, Ellen Cox, and two grandchildren, Isobel Gentry and Andy Gentry.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Brenda Kisor; two children, Kendra Rogers and husband Chris Jr. of Newcastle, Oklahoma, and Kayla Gentry and husband Grant, of Argyle, Texas; one sister, Elizabeth Williams and husband Edward of Choctaw, Oklahoma, and one brother, Kenneth Kisor of Shawnee, Oklahoma; as well as four precious grandchildren, Kamden Smith, Dakota Smith, Erin Gentry, and Ruari Gentry, and a host of other loving family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:30pm through 8:30pm on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the John M. Ireland & Son Funeral Home & Chapel, located at 120 South Broadway Avenue in Moore, Oklahoma.
Funeral services for Don will begin at 2:00pm on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Brookwood Baptist Church, located at 8921 S. Walker Ave. in Oklahoma City. Interment will follow the service at Moore City Cemetery.
