Donna B. McGuire, 87, of Alexis, IL, passed away on Friday, December 20, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born on December 22, 1936 in rural Murrayville, IL, the daughter of Roy and Muriel (McCracken) Shull. Donna was raised and educated in Winchester, IL, graduating from Winchester High School in 1954.
Donna married Lawrence McGuire on January 16, 1959 at St William’s Catholic Church in Midland, SD; he preceded her in death on October 1, 1987.
Donna worked for 14 years at Outboard Marine Corporation in Galesburg, IL. She later worked for 18 as the Ward Secretary on F-Wing at Community Memorial Hospital in Monmouth until her retirement.
In her spare time, Donna enjoyed tending to her flower garden, reading and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Donna was a member of St Teresa Catholic Church in Alexis, IL.
Surviving Donna are her children: Brian P. (Melissa) McGuire of Knoxville, IL, Kelly C. (Larry) McGuire-Jensen of Galesburg, IL, and Lawrence B. (Kimberly) McGuire of Knoxville, IL; 6 grandsons, Ben McGuire, Brennan Jensen, Michael Jensen, Devin McGuire, Nate McGuire, Luke McGuire; one granddaughter, Megan McGuire-Johnson; and nine great grandchildren: Reagan McGuire, Parker McGuire, Jolie McGuire, Ellari Jensen, Lydia Jensen, Blair Jensen, Ramsey Johnson, Ryker Johnson, Rayden Johnson, Magnolia Johnson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers: Robert and Thomas Shull, and two sisters: Maxine Carter and Geraldine Angel.
Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 23, 2024 at McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory, Monmouth, IL. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Alexis Cemetery, Alexis, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alexis-North Henderson Ambulance Company and can be sent to the funeral home.
