The Muldowney/Powell families are saddened to announce the passing of Donna Jean Muldowney Powell, 66 of Ridley Park on Monday August 18, 2025. She was born May 29, 1959 in Philadelphia to the late William E. & Helen M. (Mears) Muldowney.
Born in Philadelphia and moved to Prospect Park at an early age, Donna graduated from Interboro High School. She was the youngest girl of eight siblings, and would do anything for her family. She loved them dearly. Nothing made her more proud than being a mom to her two sons, Ryan and Sean Powell. She moved to Ridley Park, and made many friends in her apartment complex. They became her second family. They meant the world to her
In her twenties and thirties, Donna was a two-time courageous survivor of non-hodgkins lymphoma, and throughout her life accomplished everything she set her mind to. She later became a proud and loving Grandmother, and never missed an opportunity to show off her pictures on her phone to everyone. She loved shopping, traveling, going to restaurants, and listening to all types of music, but mostly enjoyed being in the company of her family and friends.
Donna traveled to Florida and South Carolina to visit family several times, and was invited on several cruises with her son and his family. She was a very fun-loving, overly generous, happy person, and the most kind-hearted person ever. She will be missed by everyone that was close to her.
She is survived by her sons, Ryan and Sean Powell, her grandchildren Gavin, Audrey, Sonny, Mikaela, Logan, Sean and Lily. Her sister Helene Johns, brother Dennis, sister Debbie Foreacre, brother Michael, brother Kevin (Lorraine), sister Kathy Sheerer (Eric), and brother Mark (Angie). Her nieces Tina, Kelly, Maureen, Rachael, Kaitlyn, Kelsi, Alissa, Irish, and Angelina and nephews George, Liam, and Kevin as well as their spouses and many great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Family and Friends are invited to Donna's viewing on Monday August 25th from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at the Cavanagh Family Funeral Home, 301 Chester Pike, Norwood. A Prayer Service will follow at 12:00 Noon. Interment in Ss. Peter & Paul Cemetery, Springfield.
