Doris June Baughan, 76, passed away on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 at Smithville-Western Care Center in Wooster after a lengthy illness.
Doris was born on Jan. 7, 1947 in Sun, WV to Herbert Sr. and Hazel (Smathers) Byers and graduated from Mount Hope High School. On April 19, 1969 she married Thomas A. Baughan and he preceded her in death on May 10, 2005. Doris had worked at Regal Ware in Wooster and J Sport in Millersburg. She was a member of Millersburg Church of God where she volunteered at the church food pantry and she enjoyed reading her Bible and going to the races.
She will be greatly missed by her children, Lois (Dave) Baird of Holmesville, Lisa Baughan of Dalton, Johnny (Karen) Baughan of Shreve, Rita (Brian) Dawson of Lakeville and June Baughan of Mansfield; grandchildren, Rory Leaman, Drew Baird, Tony Baird, Aaron Baird, Cody (Miranda) Duncan, Brooke Dawson, Ally Dawson, Billy Dawson, Destiny Baughan, Brianna McElfresh and Felicia McElfresh; great-grandchildren, Rory Leaman, III, Serrena Juillerat and Tateum Juillerat; brothers and sisters, Norma Jean (Don) McDaniels, Herbert Byers Jr., Delilah White, Cecil (Vickie) Byers, Herman Byers, Royal (Patricia) Byers, Donnie Byers, Robert Paul Byers and Joe (Linda) Byers and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy, granddaughter Cherice Duncan and a sister, Betty Baker.
Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 26th at 2:00 p.m. at Murray Funeral Home in Fredericksburg with Rev. Dave Masters officiating. Burial will be in Fredericksburg East Cemetery. Friends may call from 12:00 noon until time of services on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Murray Funeral Home, 249 S. Mill St., PO Box 183, Fredericksburg, OH 44627.
