Dorla Marie Pella Morgan, 64, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 27, 2025, in Salt Lake City, Utah, after a long battle against cancer.
She was born July 4, 1961, in Spokane, Washington, daughter of Arizona D. Gibbons and Robert C. Pella. She married Steve Leon Morgan on June 6, 1979, in Roy, UT.
Dorla graduated from Roy High School in 1979. She then went on to operate her own in-home daycare before becoming a production supervisor at Autoliv in Ogden, Utah.
Some of the things she enjoyed and loved: She was a die-hard Utah Jazz fan. She enjoyed going to watch movies at the theater and watching her husband and son train/race their racehorses. Most of all, she loved the time spent with her grandchildren; they were one of the best things in her life. She always made sure they felt loved and special, and vice versa.Surviving is her husband, Steve Leon Morgan, Slaterville, Utah; and three children, Travis Leon Morgan, Layton, Utah; Tyson D. (Stephanie) Morgan, Farr West, Utah; and Stephanie Marie (Chris) Smith, Roy, Utah. She has three grandchildren, Bryce Morgan, Payton Morgan, and Kylie Smith; one great-grandchild, Haytham Morgan; two sisters and two brothers, Karla Howard, Roy, Utah; Billie (Jeff) Golden, Freeport, Florida; Chris (Rita) Pella, Smithfield, Utah; and Shawn (Maria) Pella, San Antonio, Texas; one aunt and one uncle, Rebecca (Gene) Thomas, Mesa, Arizona; and Ted (Sharon) Pierce, Holladay, Utah.
Preceded in death by her mother, Arizona D. Pella and father, Robert C. Pella; sister, Barbara Gene (Gerry) Herman, Brigham City, Utah; and brother, Scott (Karla) Pella, Garland, Utah.
A special thank you from our family goes out to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital, ICU staff, and Utah Hematology Oncology Clinic.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Mom’s honor on August 9, 2025, from 6 to 9 p.m. at at Steve and Dorla’s home, 2390 West Pioneer Road, Slaterville.. Family and friends are welcome to attend.
