1943-2025

Jane Arnell Lawson was born on Oct. 13, 1943, to James Arnold and Myrtle Lavonia McDanal Lawson in Columbus, Georgia. She was the 2nd of 5 children. Jane loved her childhood growing up among the magnolia trees and fireflies. She must have played hard as her dad gave her the nickname of "Tuffy" because she was "so tuff". Jane attended Columbus High School until the age of 16 when her family moved to Ogden, Utah, where she was a Lakette and graduated from Bonneville High School.

Shortly after graduating she met and married Ralph Dennis Osmond. Their love story started with them eloping and getting sealed in the Logan Temple. Together they made their home in Ogden, Utah. Jane's greatest desire in life was to be a wife and mother and to watch her children's success and happiness.

Even with all of her familial obligations, Jane was in constant service to her church and community. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions. She had a strong testimony of the happiness Christ's message brought her. Jane graduated from Weber State University. She studied abroad in Spain, earning her bachelor's degree in English and a minor in Spanish. She later worked at WSU as a registrar for 8 years before she and Dennis retired and moved to Gunlock, Utah. They built a beautiful home, served a Spanish speaking mission together in St. George, and enjoyed a beautiful, peaceful, quiet retirement for 20 years. They especially loved their Family Home Evening group there. Recently they moved back up North to be closer to all of their children and their families.

Jane is survived by her husband, Dennis; her 4 children, Kelly (Kevin) Sederholm, Patrick Osmond, Kris (Bret) Hadley, and Shannon (Jonathan) Stumm; her sister, Susan Dotson; brothers, Jim Lawson and Robert Lawson; sister in-law Kathleen Lawson; 20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father Arnold Lawson, mother Myrtle McDanal Lawson, and her brother Alan Lawson.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Boulevard, Ogden. Followed by a graveside service at Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
