Dorothy "Dot" L. (Moyer) Virnelson, 96, of Sellersville, PA; formerly of Hilltown Twp. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at The Community at Rockhill.
Dorothy was the loving wife of the late Frank William Virnelson for 68 years. She was born in Hilltown Twp., PA to the late Howard E. Moyer and the late Emma K. (Landis) Moyer.
Dorothy graduated from Hilltown High School, class of 1945. She then graduated from Grand View Nursing School in Sellersville, class of 1948. She was employed as a registered nurse for Grand View Hospital, North Penn Hospital, & Elm Terrace Nursing Home in Lansdale, totaling 50 years of service.
Dorothy was a lifetime member of Calvary Church where she was involved with the children's nursery, the Pioneers Girls Club, and the Missionary Sewing Guild. She was also a member of a quilt club in the local community.
Dorothy enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, and gardening. She loved attending and watching her children and grandchildren's sporting events.
Dorothy was a caring and generous woman who had a big heart.
She is survived by her two sons, Frederick William Virnelson & wife, Tracey of Quakertown, PA, Karl William Virnelson & wife, Susan of Sellersville, PA; her daughter, Genette Louise Braun & husband, Andrew of Milton, FL; her eight grandchildren – Jonathan, Jacob, & Stephen Braun, Derek, Jared, Corey, Nicholas, & David Virnelson; her 13 great-grandchildren; her sister, Thelma J. Myers of Santa Anna, CA; and her brother, Ray A. Moyer & wife, Page of Dresher, PA.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Braun; her two brothers, James "Jim" A. Moyer, H. Edward Moyer; her sister, Alice Haines; her two sisters-in-law, Betty & Alice Moyer; and her two brothers-in-law, Willetts "Bunker" Haines & Arthur Myers.
A visitation will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Calvary Church, 820 Route 113, Souderton, PA 18964, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am.
Inurnment will take place at Calvary Church Cemetery.
