Dorsey Stewart Larsen, our loving husband, brother, stepfather, and grandpa, passed away after a long battle with cancer on May 12, 2022. He was born on August 4, 1956, in Ogden, Utah to Betty Lou Roberts and James Stewart (Stew) Larsen.
After graduating from Ben Lomond High School, Dorsey went on to college and found his passion with construction. Big-D Construction Company became his additional family for over 30 years. When driving in Utah, he would proudly point out all the buildings he helped build. Eventually Big-D Signature gave him the opportunity to live in, and experience Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Gunnison, Colorado. He was a meticulous worker and loved helping anyone solve a perplexing problem.
Dorsey believed in playing hard, along with working hard. He enjoyed camping in his motor home, riding the sand dunes and red rocks in his razor, and doing everything with his friends and family. Dorsey loved anything with a motor. Whether it was his first truck, motor home, or sand rail, he would ramp it up, add to it, anything to make it bigger, faster, and better. And with his love of his motorized toys came his abundance of wonderful friends and family to come along with him to camp, ride, and play in all the places he loved, such as Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado.
Dorsey is survived by his wife Linda Ahrensback Larsen, who will deeply miss him and have him close to her heart always. He is immensely loved by his stepchildren, Nathan Robert Craven and his wife Sara, Amanda Leigh Tucker and her husband Adam, and Miles Chauncey Craven. Grandchildren, Ryker Craven, Braxton, Leena, and Deklan Craven, and Mason Tucker, will miss Grandpa Dorsey so much, and have tenderhearted memories of their time with him camping and tubing the river in Lava Hot Springs. Dorsey will also be genuinely missed by his sister, Debbie Lou Larsen, and brother James Rex Larsen and wife Cindy, his niece Mandy Lou Cronquist Tanner, husband Colton, children Kesli and Tyce. Also, Jessica Shay Cronquist, and his nephew Shayson James Larsen and the many cousins and extended Larsen and Ahrensback families.
He is preceded by his sweet daughter, Samantha Larsen, and his parents, Betty Lou Roberts and James Stewart (Stew) Larsen.
An abundance of gratitude and love goes out to the team of doctors and nurses at Utah Hematology and Oncology that not only treated Dorsey but cared and loved us both dearly through the most difficult journey of our lives.
