LANCASTER, SC – Mr. Douglas L. Lucas, age 79, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025, at his home. He was married to Sandra Brunson Lucas for over 40 years. He was born March 19, 1946. The son of the late Daisy Worley Lucas and Norman Lucas.
After moving from North Carolina to Lancaster, South Carolina, he was a meat specialist for Bi-Lo until the stores closed and then was a meat specialist at Food Lion.
Doug's passion was watching his son and grandson's play ball and taking them on fishing trips.
Doug is survived by his wife, Sandra Lucas; their children, Brandon Lucas (Kayla), Melissa Whitley (Clay), Doug Lucas (Diana), Chad Lucas (Kim), and Sonya Beal, Tabby Casey (Mike); and his sister, Geneveive Williams.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Braylen and Easton Lucas; and many other grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Daisy and Norman Lucas; and two brothers, Dennis and Donald Lucas
The Celebration of Life Graveside Service will be 11:00 am Thursday, June 19, 2025 at Lancaster Memorial Park. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Green Lawn Cemetery, Attn: General Fund, Great Falls, SC.

We are so sorry to hear about Doug´s passing. Dad ( JR Honeycutt) thought so much of Doug. They worked together at BiLo. Sandra we are lifting you all up in our prayers. Love, JR and Betty Honeycutt and daughter Tammy Collins.
