Dr. Dr. Gurdial Arora

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Gurdial Arora. A cherished and respected member of our community, Dr. Arora passed on July 19, 2025 at his home and was surrounded by his family.

Born in the state of Punjab, India, Dr. Arora was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and an unconditional friend to all those that entered his life. He dedicated his life to his role as a mathematics professor for over 30 years at Xavier University. He made a profound impact on the lives of his students, faculty, and colleagues at Xavier University and remained committed to making the world a better place through his presence, devotion to education, and improving the next generation.

He is survived by his wife, Veena Arora; his daughters, Anita Gill and Sunita Arora; his sons-in-law, Paul Gill and Paul Chiusano; and his grandchildren: Kareena, Ilina, Arianna, and Nikhil.

Please join our family in paying your respects on Friday, July 25, 2025 at 9:30 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive Metairie, LA 70001 followed by a private cremation service.

A memorial service and langar will be held in Dr. Arora's honor at the Gurudwara on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at 8433 Morrison Rd. New Orleans, LA 70127.
