Druie Brown Garrett, Jr; passed away on Friday February 2, 2024. Druie was born on April 17, 1939, to the late Druie Brown and Isabel England Garrett. Druie was a deacon at Cardinal Hill Baptist Church where he was a lifelong member and served as chairman of the Deacons. He worked for Liquid Transport, Mercer Trucking, a partner in Garrett Brothers Trucking, Krispy Kreme Donuts and Indianapolis Life Insurance Company. He was with Long Run Baptist Association helping to get Kentucky Changers started along with Pastor Rick Lucas. He also did youth and senior adult retreats to Florida. He was also a diary and livestock farmer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his wife, Lois Richie Garrett; his siblings, Virginia Marie Crabtree, Geraldine Garrett Titus, Mary Marcella Pollard, Bluford Howard Garrett and Jerry “Monty” Garrett.
He is survived by his son, Druie Brown Garrett, III; siblings, Betty Joyce Horton, George Arthur Garrett (Mary Frances), James Joseph Garrett (Sharon Lynn); sister-in-laws, Mary Garrett, Kay Dino (Jim) and brother-in-law, Charles D. Crabtree.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 7, 2024 at 4:00 pm, at Louisville Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until time of the service at the funeral home.
