Dwayne McAninch, a pioneering figure in the earthmoving industry, passed away on April 26, 2025, at the age of 88. His life's work reshaped not only the landscape of the construction industry but also the lives of those who worked alongside him.
Born in 1936, Dwayne grew up with a strong work ethic and a passion for machinery. He began his career in the earthmoving business at a young age, quickly earning a reputation for his innovative approach and unwavering commitment to quality. As the founder of McAninch Corporation, he was instrumental in modernizing the earthmoving industry, developing cutting-edge techniques and technologies that set new standards for e ciency, safety, and environmental responsibility.
Under his leadership, McAninch Corporation grew from a small local company to a nationally recognized industry leader, undertaking major infrastructure projects that helped shape communities and economies across the country. He was beloved by his employees, colleagues, and clients alike, always emphasizing the importance of teamwork and respect.
Outside of his professional achievements, Dwayne was a devoted family man, a mentor to countless individuals, and an active member of his community. His quiet generosity and commitment to giving back were integral to his character, and his legacy extends far beyond the world of earthmoving.
Dwayne's contributions to the earthmoving industry and his enduring legacy of kindness and humility will never be forgotten. He leaves behind a world that is better for having had him in it.
Dwayne was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Glennis, with whom he shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and partnership. He is survived by his children, Stacy (Mark) Pehl and Doug (Donna) McAninch; his grandchildren, Sara Gilliam, Heather McAninch, Jordyn (Sterling) Harris and Rose McAninch; great grandchildren Danielle Batiste, Huck and Jack Gilliam, Ruth, Hank and Gigi Harris, who all brought him endless pride and joy. He is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Hogue.
Dwayne spent his final days at home under the compassionate care of Home Care Assistance and UnityPoint Hospice. The family is deeply grateful for the remarkable and loving care provided by their dedicated care teams, whose support brought comfort during his last days.

He was the kindest man. I had the pleasure of working for him personally for a short time, I took care of his car collection. Much loved, never forgotten.
