Rev. E. Paul Burow

Rev. E. Paul Burow went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the age of 85.
Erwin Paul Burow was born on December 11, 1938 in Buffalo, New York. He was a son of Erwin W. and Marion Alice Burow. On August 28, 1965, he married Peggy Schmidt and they shared 58 years of making memories together. After high school, Paul attended Concordia Senior College, Fort Wayne, Indiana where he obtained his Bachelor Degree in 1962. Paul completed his education at Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois graduating with a Masters Degree-MDIV in 1966. Paul dedicated his life to the Lord and served Him through ministry from 1967-1972 at Risen Christ Lutheran in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada; from 1972-1995 at St. John Lutheran in Rochester, Michigan; from 1995-2000 at Concordia Lutheran in San Antonio, Texas and from 2000 until he fully retired in 2015 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Macomb. Pastor Paul touched so many lives through his ministry, work with Camp Arcadia and Camp Pioneer and service in his churches. When he wasn't working, Paul enjoyed playing tennis, reading, learning and playing bridge, he was on the St. John Lutheran Bridge Club. He was loved by everyone who knew him and his passing will leave a void in the hearts of all who loved him. Pastor Paul will be greatly missed.
Paul is survived by his wife, Peggy; children, Jennifer Fink, Karen (Lee) Dancey, Peter (Jamie) Burow and Sarah (Chip) May; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, James (Anita) Burow and John (Kris) Burow; and many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Paul was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Matthew Eric Matzinger and parents.
Visitation for Paul will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hauss-Modetz Funeral Home, 47477 Romeo Plank, Macomb. The funeral service for Paul will be at 11:00 a.m. with a 10:00 a.m. instate time on Saturday, March 16, 2024 at Immanuel Lutheran Worship Center, 47120 Romeo Plank, Macomb. The burial will take place immediately following the funeral service in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Macomb.
