Earl "Wallace" Funderburk, age 82 of Mount Ida, AR passed away on December 20, 2023 at home surrounded by his loved ones. Wallace was born October 17, 1941 in Cowhide Cove, Murfreesboro, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents Mary Magdelyn Garner Kizzia and Leon Funderburk, and brother Leroy Funderburk.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years Joanna Funderburk. Sisters Clara Fae Babbitt, Patricia Pedron and brother Raymond Funderburk. Daughter Valerie and William Bennett and Sons Clinton Funderburk, Terry and Kelly Funderburk and Richard and Darla Funderburk. Grandchildren Kiera Bennett, Lane Bennett, Misty Mills, Tiffany Funderburk, Mathew Funderburk, Heather Funderburk, Jason Sanders and Richard Funderburk. Also 6 great grandchildren, his beloved Trapping Family as well as many dear friends.
Wallace retired from the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers and spent many years as a carpenter. He was a lifetime member of the Arkansas Trapper Association. His hobbies were trapping, hunting, fishing and primitive crafts. His favorites of course were trapping, spending time with his loved ones, and telling stories and traveling with his trapping family.
There will be an open house Memorial/Celebration of his Life at his home in Mount Ida, AR on January 6, 2024 from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
