Rev. Earl G. Parkinson Jr., of Washington, died Sunday, January 5, 2025, at home with family by his side. He was born July 22, 1952, in Washington, a son of the late Earl Sr. and Hilda Furbee Parkinson. Rev. Parkinson was a 1971 graduate of Washington High School. He was a machinist for Trigon in McMurray and a former minister. Rev. Parkinson was most recently a member of the Apostolic Christian Temple in Washington. He loved gardening, travelling to the Outer Banks, N.C., and playing Fantasy Football with his son and grandson. On April 4, 1970, he married Lillian Moss, who survives. Also surviving are: three children, Tessa McCartney (Taggart) of Prosperity, Earl Paul Parkinson (Cindy) of Houston and Jodi Headley (Marc) of Washington; six grandchildren, Tempera and Ophelia McCartney, Halen Parkinson, Jessica Neill, and Alliyah and Cassidy Borchert; a great granddaughter, Lilly Parkinson; a sister, Christine Farrer (David) of Buffalo, N.Y., a brother, Donnie Parkinson of Washington; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends will be received from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 PM Thursday in McIlvaine-Speakman Funeral Home Ltd., Robert K. McIlvaine, Owner/Supervisor, 27 Cherry Avenue, Houston, PA 15342, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 10, 2025, with Rev. Myron Jones II officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.
