Eddie Teston, age 74, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at his residence surrounded by family.
Eddie was born November 18, 1950, in DeRidder, LA, a son to the late Thelton and Mamie (Carroll) Teston.
He was a 1970 graduate of Buras High School in Louisiana and a member of the Texas Avenue Baptist Church. Eddie’s faith in God was strong. He knew his Bible well and was always willing to spread the word of God to others.
Eddie had worked in the oil fields as a young man before going to work as a landscaper for 30 years. He later worked as a CEO Housekeeper at Fort Polk and in real estate for Bob Scalfi. Eddie worked at Wal-Mart after retiring and made many friends there.
On August 28, 1971 he was united in marriage to Denise Rushing at the Pentecostal Church in Brookhaven Mississippi. Denise survives of the home.
Eddie was selfless, enjoyed helping others, and never met a stranger. He lived to sit on a bench and joke with people as they passed by. He enjoyed fishing, watching westerns, magnet fishing, and woodworking. Above all, Eddie loved spending time with his family. He will be missed greatly by those that knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife of 53 years, Eddie is survived by: four children, Christine Teston of Jefferson City, TN, Jacob Teston of DeRidder, LA, Tina Cordell of Simpson, LA, and Lacrica Talbott and her husband Harley of Belle, MO; twenty-one grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one brother, Robert Teston as well as many extended family members and friends.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Raymond Teston and Freddie Teston.
Family services will be held at a later date.
