Edith Marie Howard Harness, 96 of Crab Orchard, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2025 at Rockcastle Health & Rehab in Brodhead, Kentucky. She was the widow of Charles E. Harness, Sr. who preceded her in death in 1981. Born on September 3, 1928 the daughter of the late James Clifford Howard and Isabell Hasty Howard. She was a member of Philadelphia United Baptist Church. She was a former seamstress for Jackson Chair Company. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a faithful servant who had a determination to endure to the end. She enjoyed listening to gospel music and spending time with her family and friends. She faithfully attended church as long as she was able.

Survivors Include:

Two Sons:

Charles E. "Chuck" Harness, Jr. and Wife, Judy

Darrell Harness and Wife, Sonya

Two Grandchildren:

Matt Robbins

Allison & Husband, Blaine Coffey

Niece, Diane & Husband, Nick Powers

Best Friends, Julia Hale and Doris Osbourne

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frances Clifford Howard, Marion Howard, and Elmer Glenn Howard along with two sisters, Helen Howard and Martha Rose Weaver.

Funeral Date & Time: 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2025

Place of Funeral: McKnight Funeral Home Chapel at 147 Main Street, Crab Orchard, KY 40419

Officiating Minister: Bro. Gordon Mink

Place of Burial: Mt. Zion Church of Christ Cemetery

Visitation will be after 6:00 PM Wednesday, August 20th, 2025 at McKnight Funeral Home Chapel

Pallbearers Include:

Jeremy Smith, Danny Wilburn, Blaine Coffey, Bub Taylor, Nick Owens, & Brian McFerson

Matt Robbins will serve as Honorary Pallbearer
