Cassie Harness

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cassie Harness, aged 96, on August 21, 2025, in Buchanan, Georgia. Born on May 3, 1929, in Huntsville, Tennessee, Cassie was a beloved daughter, mother, and grandmother whose warmth and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her. If you ever had the privilege to be in her home, you always knew you would leave with a full stomach and a hug, knowing how loved you truly were by her. She had the kindest heart and a true gift of making you feel welcomed and a part of the family.

Cassie dedicated her life to caring for her family, nurturing her children and grandchildren with unconditional love and an unwavering spirit. She is survived by her children, son Clark Harness and daughter-in-law Linda Harness, daughters, Novella Spake and son-in-law James Spake, Wilma Brawley and son-in-law John Waters and Brenda Sanders and son-in-law Kirk Sanders, son Stoney Harness and daughter-in-law Tina Harness, and sons Anthony Harness and Boyd Harness; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the values she instilled and the love she bestowed.

In honoring Cassie's incredible life, we invite friends and family to join us for visitation at Hightower Funeral Home on August 24, 2025, at 1:30 PM. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location at 3:00 PM, where we will come together to remember her spirit and the joy she brought into our lives. After the service, Cassie will be laid to rest at Corinth Church Cemetery.

Cassie Harness lived a life rich in love and compassion, and her memory will forever be etched in our hearts. She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of family bonds and cherished moments that will continue to thrive in the generations to come. She will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Cassie was preceded in death by: her father and mother, Lindsay and Florence Harness; son, Billie Harness; daughters, Velma Harness, Rachel Weaver and Pamela Folds; son-in-law, Tommy Weaver; two brothers; and five sisters.
