Edith Tiarks Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Informed Choice Funeral & Cremation Alternatives - West Allis on Jan. 30, 2025.
Edie was the first born to Marvin and Meida (nee Schulz) Defferding in Kronewetter, Wisconsin. She was a graduate of Wisconsin Lutheran High School where she met her best friend and husband, Roger. Together they became members of West Allis Bowmen where she was the secretary and spent time volunteering on many different committees. It is also where she met many people who became her lifelong friends, including her good friend Gen Moschetz.
Over the years, she babysat Caleb and Jacob who became honorary grandchildren. As they grew up, she enjoyed watching them play ball. Edie also volunteered at her local church, hospital, and was a reservist with the West Allis Police Department.
In her free time, she loved gardening and became a member of the Hosta Society; she grew many different varieties in her yard. She had a love of knitting and crocheting and would spend hours making beautiful afghans for her family and friends. If you couldn't find her knitting in her chair, you would have found her in the kitchen baking cookies and even a wedding cake or two on occasion.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger as well as two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her children Jeanne Farina, Timothy (Roxanne), and Andrew (Trina). She also leaves behind her Grandchildren, Frank (Megan), Tiana (Trevor), Kristin (Evan), Amanda (Nick), Nicholas (Alexys), Kelsey, and Olivia and Great-Grandchildren Jude, Walter, Emmaline, William, Lewis, Margo, and Kori. Edie found great joy in being an honorary mother to her nieces and nephews as well as their children. She is further survived by many relatives and friends.
Visitation at Living Hope Lutheran Church (formerly Good Shepherd's Evangelical Lutheran) 1235 South 100th Street West Allis on Monday, February 3, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. Funeral Service to follow.
