Edna Klein, 90, of Springfield, NJ, passed away on October 29, 2025. Visitation will be Tuesday November 4th from 10 am to 12 noon at Bradley, Smith & Smith, 415 Morris Ave, Springfield. Private interment will follow.
Born in Rahway, the daughter of Heinrich and Minna (Brancard) Sturcke, Edna was raised in
Westfield. She attended Westfield High School and received her Associate's degree from
Stephens College in Missouri. In her early years, Edna worked for Chubb & Son in Short Hills
before leaving to raise her family. In 2020, she became a licensed pastor at Groundbreakers
Church in Springfield. Edna was a member and past president of Woman's AGLOW Fellowship
in Union County and, in 2017, founded a non-profit to rescue women who were trafficked or
imprisoned for prostitution to feed their families in Kenya and help them become self-sufficient.
Over 9000 women and their children have been helped through this ministry.
Edna was a key member of the Ecclesiastical Embroidery Guild, which her mother founded. Her hands stitched beauty and reverence into countless altar paraments for churches near and far. She crocheted many scarves for the homeless in New York City. Edna also loved to travel and was a devoted hospice volunteer.
Edna was the loving mother of Stephen Klein (Donna), Cynthia Jackson (Charles) and Allison
Borkowski (Steven). She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren; Steven Borkowski, Jr.
(Ally), Alex Keller, Jeremy Klein, Jesse Klein, Amanda Jackson, Eric Jackson and Jack
Borkowski, great grandson Emmett Borkowski, her dearest friend Patricia Miller and her
brother Erick Sturcke (Pat).

Everyone is invited to a Celebration of Life service on Saturday, Dec 6th at 10 am at Abundant Grace Christian Church, 70 Home Ave, Rutherford. A light lunch will follow in the church fellowship hall.
