Edward M. Buccigross, age 90 years, of Manomet, in Plymouth, died Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Beth Israel – Deaconess Hospital in Plymouth. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Donovan) Buccigross, and the son of the late Michael E. and Belle (Parrel) Buccigross. Born on December 4, 1932, Edward was raised in South Boston. He was a graduate of Boston Latin High School, and Boston College. He was a United States Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, and retired from Sears where he worked as a store manager. During his retirement, Ed opened up a sports card shop in Cedarville, named E.J.'s Sport's Cards. During his younger years, he played semi-pro football for the South Boston Chippewas. He also played hockey, baseball and softball. Ed was a very social man. He was generous to his community in many ways, especially as instrumental as founding local scholarships to help others. This included the Hall of Fame Clark Hinkle awards in Steubenville, OH and the South Boston Hall of Fame scholarship. He enjoyed membership at the Knight's of Columbus, Veteran's of Foreign Wars, and the Elks Clubs. Because his faith came before all else, Ed has been a faithful communicant of St. Bonaventure's Church in Manomet.
In addition to his devoted wife Mary, of 65 years, Ed will be missed by his children, Mary Stacy of Pinckney, Michigan, John Buccigross of Plymouth, and Christine Kelly of Tewksbury, his grandchildren, Kevin, Jennifer, Randall, Brett, Malorie, Jackson, Rachel and Amber and his great grandchildren Jason, Elizabeth and Harper, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. He was known by many as a "second Dad" and by his grandchildren as "Popo." He was the brother of Belle Perrone of Longmeadow and James Buccigross and his wife Helena of Plymouth. He was predeceased by his son Joseph Buccigross, his great granddaughter Elizabeth Stacy and his sister Mary Lanzillo.
Visitation with the Buccigross family will be held at the CARTMELL-DAVIS LIFE CELABRATION FUNERAL HOME, 619 State Rd., Plymouth (Manomet) on Monday, December 19, 2022 from 4:00PM – 7:00PM. His funeral will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022. Final farewell will begin at 10:00AM at the CARTMELL-DAVIS LIFE CELABRATION FUNERAL HOME, followed by a funeral mass at St. Bonaventure's Church at 11:00AM. Interment will be in the National Cemetery of Massachusetts, Connery Ave., Bourne at 1:30PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Benedict's Center, The Slaves of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, PO Box 1000, Harvard, MA. 01451

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mary and all the family at this very difficult time. We will always remember the many good times we shared with them when they lived in Indiana, Pa.
Rest In Peace, Ed.
