Edward Jones Clopton Jr.

Edward "Ned" J. Clopton Jr. of Langhorne, PA, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, at the age of 94, at home, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 4, 1930, he was the beloved husband of June Joy Liberty Clopton for 67 years. He was a devoted father to Terri (Gary) Brasseur, Sandra (the late Jack) Callender, Edward "Ned" III (Sheryl) Clopton, and Charles Scott (Irene) Clopton. He was a proud Pop-Pop to Aimee (Brad) Roberts and Emilee Brasseur; Jack K. III (Jessica), Jamie Sr. (Lindsay) and Tyler (Katherine) Callender; Jake and Marissa Clopton; and Nadine and Emma Clopton. Ned's legacy also lives on through his great-grandchildren: Logan Roberts, Katelyn, Reagan, and Madison Callender, and Callie, Jamie Jr., and Finley Callender. He was predeceased by his parents, Edward Jones and Alexina Bell Clopton, and his son-in-law, Jack K. Callender Jr.
Ned graduated from Alleghany High School in Cumberland, Maryland, in 1949 before attending Virginia Military Institute (VMI), where he graduated in 1953. He proudly served in the United States Air Force for two years, stationed at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Virginia, where he met the love of his life, June. Following his military service, Ned worked for U.S. Steel Fairless Works for 33 years, retiring in 1986.
Ned was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. In his free time, he enjoyed working in his yard and cherished spending time with his family. He also fondly remembered his years at the family beach house on Long Beach Island, NJ.
Ned will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, whose kindness, dedication, and sense of humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A private memorial service and interment will be held.
