Edward G Hilgenberg Jr., 80, of Swanton, Ohio passed away on Monday July 22, 2024. He was born on January 15, 1944, to the late Edward Sr. and Edith (Brubaker) Hilgenberg in South Point, Ohio. He married Lois Slusher on May 3, 1964, and she survives in Swanton, Ohio.
Eddie worked as a machinist for Chrysler in Perrysburg, Ohio for 30 years. He enjoyed flying and building model remote airplanes, going to the casino with his son, working on cars, landscaping and riding around in his bobcat. Eddie liked to tinker with things and there was not a task at hand that he would turn down. He was an avid NASCAR fan and would spend his weekends watching the races on tv. Above all else he cherished the moments he spent with his loving family.
Along with his wife of 60 years Lois, he is survived by his son Gerald (Nadine) Hilgenberg, sister Joyce (Mike) Morris, grandchildren Elie Hilgenberg, Owen Hilgenberg, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
He is preceded in death by his parents, daughters Angela and Tamitha Hilgenberg, sisters Vera Hilgenberg and Eleanor Dickess.
Memorial contributions may be given in Eddie's honor to the American Diabetes Association.
A visitation for Eddie will be held on Thursday July 25, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at Peinert-Dunn Funeral Home located at 6603 Providence St. Whitehouse, Ohio 43571. Pastor Velazquez will officiate. Interment will follow at Whitehouse Cemetery.
