Edward Lamar Keith, 84, of Navarre, FL, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022.
Lamar was born on May 5, 1937, in Columbus, GA to Clarence and Lucille Keith. He graduated from Jordan High School (Columbus, GA) and Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God (Lakeland, FL). He was a US Air Force veteran. He retired after working 30 years with the Florida Department of Unemployment Compensation(Tallahassee, FL). He was a member of Navarre First Assembly of God.
Lamar was preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence and Virgie Lucille Keith; his son, Jonathan Edward Keith; and his brothers, Bobby Keith and Sam Keith.
Lamar is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nettie Ruth Keith, of Navarre, FL; two daughters, Jennifer Walker and Julie (Jon) Skipper both of Navarre; a sister, Barbara Ann Presley, of Panama City, FL; six grandchildren, Lauren (Jon) Gann, Jonathan (Nichole) Skipper, Holly (Isaac) Librande, Connor Keith, William Walker, Gabriel Keith; and four great-grandchildren: Brayden, Caroline, Jack, and Joy.
Lamar loved music of all kinds. He played several instruments and had a beautiful singing voice. He loved to laugh and make others laugh. He loved all things outdoors: fishing, hunting, gardening, bird-watching. He had an aptitude for languages. The Air Force trained him to be a translator of the Korean language and he loved being able to still speak to people in that language even well into his eighties. He was a great man of faith and has been an example to his family. He will be missed.
Funeral services for Lamar Keith will be held on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Navarre First Assembly of God, Navarre, FL, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Jon Skipper will be officiating and Lewis Funeral Home will be directing.
The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice for the wonderful care they gave our husband and father over these last few months of his illness.
The family requests memorial donations be made, in Lamar Keith's name, to Navarre First Assembly of God "Missions Fund" 9594 Navarre Parkway, Navarre, FL, 32566.
