It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Joseph Menard, who departed this life on January 20, 2025, in Houston, Texas. Born on May 31, 1958, in Lafayette, Louisiana, to the late Wesley Menard Sr. and Serita Jones Menard. Edward was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
June of 1980 Edward came to Houston where he worked in the school system for CyFair. Edward was a proud member of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. Edward is survived by his devoted wife, Deborah Menard, who married October 31, 1998. Also, Edward leaves behind five loving children: Dwayne Guilliam, Mitcheal Johnson Jr. Wayne Guilliam, Christy Johnson, and Kasheal Kemp. He was a proud grandfather to Deontra'one Green, Amir Guilliam, Deontra'nea Green, and A Trelle, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his cherished siblings: Shirley Stevenson, Patricia Smith, Mary Ethel Menard, and Sarita Chretien, as well as his brothers, Donald Menard, Wesley Menard, and Ronald Menard.
Edward was preceded in death by loved ones who have gone before him but whose memories remain forever in the hearts of those who knew him. Edward had a deep love for his family and found great joy in their company, always putting them first. He had a special place in his heart for his family dogs, who were his loyal companions. Known for his kindness and generosity, Edward was passionate about giving back and supported his favorite charity, Angels of Christ. His presence, laughter, and unwavering love will be profoundly missed but forever treasured. His legacy of compassion and devotion to family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
