EDWARD WEEMS was born on December 23, 1961 to the Late Edward Weems and Hazel Williams in Newark, NJ at Martland Medical Center.

Edward, who everyone called 'Butch' or those closest and dearest to him simply called him 'Flat'.

Butch grew up and attended school in Orange, NJ. We later moved to Hillside, NJ where he attended Hillside High School as well. After high school, Butch served in the Armed Forces from July 1986 until July 1990 where he was honorably discharged.

Upon returning from the Armed Forces, Butch became an electrician and that's what he did for the rest of his life. Butch was an excellent electrician. He truly mastered his skills and it clearly showed in his work. Not to mention the pride he put into his craft.

Butch was settled into his own ways and had a way of expressing himself, so when he did talk, you had to listen. You would always walk away scratching your head trying to make sense of what he just said. Much later whatever he said would make sense.

Butch has one son, Elijah. He was an amazing dad to his only child and played a major role in his son's life until the very end. What a great dad he was.

Not to mention the loving and caring relationships Butch had with all his nieces, nephews and cousins. Therefore, Butch will truly be missed and talked about forever.

Butch leaves to cherish his memories: one son, Elijah; his mother, Hazel Williams; 3 sisters, Wanda Weems, Donna Bond and Yvette Weems; his nephews, Taj Weems, Emanuel Grant, Jarai Bond, Kian Bond and Dajuan Weems; his nieces, Wahkeetah Weems, Epiphany-Ife Weems and Nikita-Nefertiti Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
