Effie Mae Rush, 81 of Jeffersonville, IN. passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Green Valley Healthcare in New Albany, IN.
Effie was born on March 17, 1942, in Boyle County, KY, the daughter of Morgan H. and Louzelia Massie. She retired from the US Census Bureau in Jeffersonville after 25 plus years. Effie enjoyed many things in life including playing Bingo, watching Reality Shows and Fox News.
Effie was survived by her daughter, Carla Reisert of Jeffersonville, IN; stepdaughter, Natalie Becht and her husband Mike of New Albany, IN; stepsons, John Rush of Ft. Meyers Beach, FL. And Jeff Rush of North Carolina; grandchildren, Courtney, Ian, Brittany, Brieanna, Glenn, Nicole, Alexandra, Madeline, Isabella Amanda, and Ashton; great-grandchildren, Lilly, Keegan, Hank, Esme, Gabriel, Sterling, Lucy, and Porter; bonus grandchildren, Trisha and Bryan; bonus great grandchildren, Sarah, Judah, Emma, Luke, Lily, Tyler, Dylan, and Elijah; seven nieces and nephews; best friend, Janice. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Ronald Otis Rush; son, Victor Todd Lowe; brothers, John, and Randall Massie; sister, Judy Vermillya.
Life Celebration Services will be on Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 11:30 A.M. at the Grayson Funeral Home in Charlestown with burial in Hibernia Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday.
