Elaine Sue Peyton

Elaine Sue Peyton, age 80, of DeMotte, Indiana, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 22, 2025. Elaine was born on April 7, 1945, in Batesville, Indiana, the daughter of John and Martha (Senefeld) Zerr. She was a proud graduate of Garfield High School in Terre Haute, Class of 1963. On December 24, 1980, she married the love of her life, Harold Dale Peyton, who preceded her in death on April 24, 2023. Over the years, Elaine shared her love of nature and community as a member of the Sullivan Garden Club and Gideons International. She will be remembered for her kind spirit, devotion to family, and the many lives she touched. Elaine is survived by her loving daughters, Jeanette (Harold) DeLaney and Patricia (Anthony) Padlo; her cherished granddaughter, Layla Padlo; and step-grandchildren, Joshua, Justin, and Rebecca. She is also survived by her brother, Bruce Zerr. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her daughter, Jennifer Whipple, and sister, Joyce Hadley.
