Elena (Alissi) Warren, 98, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2024, in Waltham, Massachusetts. Born March 20, 1925, in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Corina (Chistolini) and Salvatore Alissi.
Elena was a devout Catholic, deeply dedicated to God and family. She was a devoted wife for over 50 years, a loving mother to three and a grandmother, aunt, great aunt, and friend to many. Kind, caring, and giving, she was loved by all who knew her. She was energetic and active well into her nineties, traveling to see family and friends, and enjoying her many hobbies, from sewing and oil painting to making homemade noodles and tortellini. She was a member of the Caspano Club and very active in the Newton Senior Center. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, who will remember her for her generous heart and loving ways.
She is survived by her three children, Cindy Warren Lewis & husband Michael of Newton, Mark Warren & wife Roberta Udoh of Boston, and Nancy Warren & husband Russ Atkinson of Detroit, MI, three cherished grandchildren, Folasade Udoh-Warren, Imoh Udoh-Warren, and Jarrett Atkinson-Warren, sister-in-law, Jo-anne Alissi, along with many nieces, nephews, great and great-grand nieces & nephews, all of whom she loved.
Elena was predeceased by her husband, Russell Warren, sister, Lina Ferola & husband Frank, brothers, Albert Alissi & wife Sarah, and Joseph Alissi, and sister-in-law, Jessie June & husband Ed.
All are welcome Monday, February 5th from 9:00 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Tazzini Funeral Home, 22 Locust Street, proceeding to Elenas 11:00 a.m. Liturgy of Christian Burial at Mary, Mother of Hope Church, followed by her burial at St. Michaels Cemetery, all located in Springfield.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Newton Senior Center, 1000 Commonwealth Ave., Newton, MA 02459, Attention: Norine Silton, or at www.NewtonSeniors.org.
